The main attraction of the park is Hogganfield Loch, a large shallow loch with a wooded island. Hogganfield Park is a 48 hectares/119 acres site and is excellent for bird watching or simply walking. Access is very easy, with a tarmac path all the way around the loch edge. There is a wide variety of water birds on the loch, including some rarities. The park was awarded a Green Flag in 2013. Pollok Country Park has been successful in achieving a Green Flag Award in 2016. This has been retained every year since 2012. Tollcross Park (37 hectares/91 acres) is internationally famous for its unique Rose Garden and impressive Winter Gardens. The park has many hidden gems including the Glen Nature Walk and Children's Farm. The park is full of points of interest and offers a welcome retreat from the busy surrounding streets.
